Grove is a Markdown editor with a built-in Terminal.
Run Claude Code or Codex below your document. Their edits appear as they work, and Grove saves the previous version before every run.
Your files stay as plain Markdown in their original folders.
Grove is free during beta and requires macOS 26 or later on Apple silicon.

By the time the sun rose she had a plan.
See changes from Claude Code or Codex as they happen.
When Claude Code or Codex edits an open file, Grove updates the document in place. Your cursor and scroll position stay where they are, and you can keep writing while the agent works.
Other command-line tools also run in the Terminal, but Grove only tracks supported agents.
Grove saves your work before an agent changes it.
Before every supported agent run, Grove saves the affected files. You can restore that version later from the Timeline without using Git.
Choose what to keep when edits overlap.
If you and an agent change the same text, Grove shows both versions. Keep yours, use the agent’s version, or combine them before updating the file.
Select a version to preview the result before applying it.
Restore any saved version.
The Timeline lists every saved version of the open document: before each agent run, automatic saves, and your manual saves. Restore one without using Git.
Open the Timeline from the toolbar or the command palette.
Open several folders in one workspace.
Project documents might live in a repository while personal notes live somewhere else. Open both folders without moving or importing their files. Links and search work across every open folder.
Draft the launch announcement after the beta dates settle.
The launch plan should address the open questions in [[Interview notes]].
Search across every open folder.
Search document titles, text, and tags. Switch to all text files when you need to include code or other files in the same folders.
Run any action from the keyboard.
Press ⌘K to open the command palette. It lists every action in Grove by name, including running Claude Code or Codex on the open document.
Choose a theme for light and dark mode.
Grove includes ten themes. Assign one to light mode and another to dark mode, or use the same theme all the time.
Met with the team about the launch plan. Two open questions remain from the interviews.
